Missed call cost calculator
How much are the calls you don't answer worth? Put in your own numbers. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
About 22 missed calls a month, or roughly 5.4 jobs.
$2,167 / month
in work that went to voicemail, based on your numbers.
Riley is $149/month. At your average job, less than one job a month covers it.
How the math works
Missed calls per month = calls you miss per week × 52 ÷ 12. Jobs lost = missed calls × the share that would have become work. Monthly cost = jobs lost × your average job value.
It's an estimate, and only as good as the numbers you put in. It also leaves out repeat business and referrals from those customers, so the real cost of a missed call can be higher.
How to stop losing those calls
- Call back fast. The sooner you return a missed call, the less likely they've already hired someone else.
- Use a voicemail greeting that asks for details. See our after-hours voicemail greeting examples.
- Forward the calls you miss to someone who can answer. Here's how to forward calls when you don't answer.
- Let Riley answer. Riley picks up the calls you miss, finds out what the caller needs, and sends you the details. $149/month, everything included.
